Delete your Summit account
This page explains how to delete your account in Summit, the number puzzle game for Android and iOS by the developer DBCA Labs, and what happens to your data when you do.
In short
- In the app: open Summit and go to Settings > Delete my account.
- Without the app: email support@dbcaconsultinginc.ca with your Support ID (or the email address you saved your progress with).
- Delete only some of your data: email support@dbcaconsultinginc.ca (see below).
- In the app, your account and its game data are deleted right away. For email requests, we delete them within 30 days. We keep purchase records for tax purposes, no longer linked to your Summit account unless a bought item is restored on a new Summit account (see below).
- Uninstalling Summit does not delete your account or the data on our server.
Option 1: delete your account in the app
- Open Summit. You need an internet connection.
- On the title screen, tap Settings.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Read what will be deleted, then tap Continue.
- Tap Delete my account to confirm. If you saved your progress, Summit first asks you to confirm that it’s you: with Apple or Google, or by typing your password.
Summit deletes your data on our server, then your sign-in account in Firebase Authentication. It then removes your account data from that device, including the players you hid, and starts over as a new guest. Summit keeps only your sound and music settings; on Android, whether it has read the Google Play install referrer, and an invite from it that it hasn’t shown yet; and, on iPhone and iPad, its list of recent App Store purchases, so that a purchase still on its way to our server isn’t lost. Google’s ad software also keeps your ad consent choices and some ad-related data on the device. If your sign-in account can’t be removed, Summit tells you: email us and we’ll finish the deletion.
Option 2: ask us by email
Use this option if you no longer have Summit installed, or can’t open it.
- Email support@dbcaconsultinginc.ca from any email address, with the subject “Delete my Summit account”.
- Tell us which account to delete. Give us your Support ID: in the app, it is under Settings > Support ID (tap it to copy it). If you saved your progress, you can instead give us the email address you used (see “No Support ID?” below).
- To protect your account from someone else’s request, we may ask for details that only its owner would know, such as your display name, or the order number from a Google Play receipt.
- We’ll confirm by email once your account is deleted.
If the button doesn’t open your email app, copy this message:
To: support@dbcaconsultinginc.ca
Subject: Delete my Summit account
Please delete my Summit account and all its data.
Support ID (in the app: Settings > Support ID):
Display name:
Device (Android, iPhone or iPad):
No Support ID? If you saved your progress, the email address you used is enough: the one you typed, or the one of your Google account or Apple ID. If you used Sign in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, give us the relay address instead: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Sign-In & Security > Sign in with Apple > Summit. If you didn’t save your progress, your account isn’t linked to your name or email address, so without your Support ID we may not be able to find it. On Android, reinstalling Summit can bring your account back from your device backup, and you can then copy your Support ID from Settings. If you bought something on Google Play, the order number from your Google Play receipt (it starts with GPA.) can also help us find your account.
Delete some of your data and keep your account
You can ask us to delete some of your data without deleting your account:
- Email support@dbcaconsultinginc.ca with the subject “Delete some of my Summit data”.
- Give us your Support ID (in the app: Settings > Support ID) and tell us what to delete. If you saved your progress, you can give us the email address you used instead. As with account deletion, we may ask for details that only the account’s owner would know.
We can delete:
- Your game history: your finished games and scores, your weekly leaderboard entries and your league history.
- Your friend leagues: your memberships and your trophies in them. You can also leave a league yourself in the app: open it from League > Friends and tap Leave league.
- Your display name: we replace it with an automatic name such as “Player4821”. You can also change your name yourself at any time in Settings.
We keep your account, your Support ID, your power-ups and items, and your purchase records (see What we keep, and for how long). We delete the data you ask for within 30 days, and copies in our backups are deleted automatically within a further 14 days.
What we delete
- Your account: your player ID (your Firebase user ID), your Support ID and your display name.
- Your sign-in account in Firebase Authentication, including any email address and password, Google account or Apple ID you linked to save your progress.
- Your game results, best score, weekly leaderboard entries, league standings, league history and league boosts. Your display name and scores disappear from leaderboards, leagues and friend leagues.
- Your friend leagues: your memberships and your trophies in them, the records of leagues whose owner removed you, and your personal invite codes. A league you were the last member of is deleted, with its codes. A league you owned passes to the member who has been in it longest.
- Reports other players made about your display name.
- Your wallet: your power-up balances and the log of changes to them.
- Your owned items (such as Remove Ads and themes), your progress towards themes and your ad reward records.
If you used Sign in with Apple and delete your account in the app on an iPhone or iPad, Summit also revokes the sign-in tokens Apple issued to Summit. If that isn’t possible, the app tells you how to stop using Sign in with Apple with Summit in your iPhone settings. If you ask us by email instead, do this yourself: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Sign-In & Security > Sign in with Apple > Summit > Stop Using.
Deleting your account doesn’t refund purchases. Power-ups and items in the account are deleted with it. If you bought Remove Ads or a theme and keep using Summit on a device signed in to the same Google Play or Apple account, Summit puts it back on your new Summit account by itself: the next time Summit starts, or when you tap Store > Restore purchases. Its purchase record is then linked to that new account.
What we keep, and for how long
| What we keep | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase records: the store, product, order or transaction number; for Google Play, a one-way hash of the purchase token; for the App Store, the original transaction ID and environment (production or sandbox); dates, refund status, and records of items that moved between Summit accounts. They are no longer linked to your Summit account or display name, unless a bought item is restored on a new Summit account (see What we delete) | Tax and accounting laws, and handling refunds and chargebacks | 6 years after the end of the tax year of the purchase |
| The name of a friend league you created or renamed, if other players are still in it. The league no longer lists you | The league belongs to its other members too | Until its last member leaves or its owner deletes it |
| Records of invites you accepted or sent: that one player accepted another’s invite, the dates, and whether each of them got the reward. They no longer name you. An invite you accepted but hadn’t yet finished a game for is cancelled. If a player who accepted your invite hasn’t got their reward yet, they still get it when they finish a game; you don’t. The other player keeps the power-ups they got | So the other player still gets a reward that is due, can’t accept a second invite, and keeps the right invite count and reward limit | Until the other player’s account is deleted too. A record that names neither player is deleted |
| Reports you sent about a display name or a league’s name: the name, the reason, your note if you wrote one, and the date. They no longer name you | So we can still deal with a name that may break our rules | Until we have dealt with the report, then 90 days |
| Your deletion request and our emails about it | To show that we handled your request | Up to 2 years |
| Server logs (IP address, date and time, the address requested, and log entries that mention your player ID, Support ID, display name, ad rewards, purchases, friend leagues, invites or reports) | Security and fixing problems | On the web servers that receive the app’s requests and deliver our web pages, up to 16 days. Our game server keeps its own logs in files of a fixed size: when they are full, the oldest entries are deleted |
| Database backups | Recovering from failures | Up to 14 days, then deleted automatically |
Google (AdMob, Firebase Authentication, Google Play and Sign in with Google) and Apple (the App Store and Sign in with Apple) keep some data under their own policies, for example your store purchase history. Google says that once a Firebase Authentication account is deleted, it removes its data from its live and backup systems within 180 days. You can reset your device’s advertising ID in your device settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How long it takes
In the app, your data is deleted from our server, and your sign-in account is deleted from Firebase Authentication, as soon as you confirm. Google then removes the sign-in data from its live and backup systems within 180 days. For email requests, we delete your account and its data within 30 days of your request; the 30 days start once we have confirmed that the account is yours. Copies in our database backups are deleted automatically within a further 14 days, as old backups are deleted.
Uninstalling is not deleting
Uninstalling Summit only removes the app and its data from your device. Your account and its data stay on our server until you delete them as described above. Before you uninstall, copy your Support ID from Settings, so that you can still ask us to delete your account later. Or simply delete your account in the app first.
